Dr. Sarah A. McIntire (1941–2016) was a distinguished microbiologist and Professor Emerita at Texas Woman’s University, where she chaired the Biology Department from 2003 until her retirement. Renowned for her research on Helicobacter pylori and her mentorship of over 150 students, she was a passionate advocate for women in science. In 2016, she received the Texas Branch ASM Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to microbiology.
